Stopped off in the La Garita / Penetente Canyon area Northwest of South Fork, CO in early may. After passing through some private "off the grid" properties, you get in to the Forest Service land proper. The forest is cedar, juniper, pinon, and pine. Sparse, but beautiful. There are some good access roads, and a dirtbike or jeep could go for miles back here. Found this natural arch on the map, and camped beneath it. Compared to the ones in Utah, this kinda looks like a dynamite blast hole, but the area was pretty cool, none-the-less.
